Fight to conquer. Conquer to rule. Rule to excel. As rulers, we show respect to our enemy and do not mock them in battle. For to do so is to show the mark of a weakened man, and not a true ruler. -Tidurian

Righto.

So I've been clicking here and there in Zork, did some quests, killed some guys, did some exploration, bought some items and read and posted in the forums here. So now that I went to slow leveling to get some more cards, planning on hunting for some pest control trophies, etc I still got some (few) questions.

1) Will I get pest control trophies even though I explore below my current level?

2) What exactly are the dungeons I find good for and is there a limit to how much I can discover for a given area?

3) What exactly are the downsides of exploring below your level apart from the obvious less xp / money?

4) What`s the meaning of life?

K. Not so much questions at all, but I am pretty sure I forgot some and I am pretty positive I'll add to this list later.

1) I believe so. It doesn't mention needing to be at your current level.

2) The special exploration areas are great. You get 20 explorations per new area discovered. Your normal areas (The ones you can click on the map) are infinite. In these special locations you usually a) earn more xp b) earn more zorkmids c)find better selling loot and d) find bosses. Bosses are generally a little tougher but dish out a TON of XP. Just check this link... Purpose of sub-locations

3) That's it. Less Zm and less XP. But you won't level as fast so you'll have more Fanucci cards when you finally DO level. It's arguable (especially within the ranks of the FL) wether or not slow leveling is beneficial or not.

4) Eat, Drink, and be Merry. "Laugh and grow fat." (MGS2). Live, Laugh, Love.

1) Absolutely you will. it doesn't matter whether you explore -1 your level or -10 your level, as soon as you defeat 10 of each type of nasty in a zone, you got the exterminator trophy, which is awarded every evening at AP refresh.

2) "Dungeons" or sublocations have higher boss rates, hero rates, and generally have better loot like Dustin says. There is currently a max of 20 known sublocations per zone, but no one has figured out how to test the claim. There is a KNOWN AND POSTED, REPORTED WAY to get extra sublocations. It was reported about 3 months ago, so since they haven't fixed it by now, it MUST be a game feature. Here's how to do it.... While exploring, once you find a sub-location, logout of the the game. Then log back in and click the "Last Adventure" button. Then explore the area normally, and another sub-location will be found. You can continue doing this as long as you want (I got 19 subs for one toon).

3) The downsides OTHER than less XP and money, is less challenge, exploring at my current level I can get about 70+% win exploring -2 or more, I have 100% win. We have a clan discussion on whether or not slow leveling is the way to go, but it won't harm your character development, and SEVERAL PERSONS find it helpful (including myself).
