Disrespect

Fellow Florians,

We need to make sure we are being respectful to everyone. Anger is normal but disrespect will not be tolerated. In response to the clan wide message that was sent regarding (yet another) clarification on inventory requests, I had received this response.

"i only asked for 1 thing so maybe it is you that needs to look into things a little better"

1.) You do NOT address any clan leader like this. I know I have a few clan leaders with alts in this clan, and I'm sure you would have given this person the boot. I, however, did not.

2.) You do NOT address anyone in the clan like this. Hell, as long as you represent the Florian Lights as a member, you will never act out before fully checking the details.

I do believe that I make it painfully obvious when I address the whole clan (Clan, Clanmates, Fellow Florians, guys, ETC...) and I do not understand how someone would believe that I referred to them as a plural, and a rather large multiple, at that.

Moral of this story... Pay attention to what is or is NOT a clan wide message before making an ass of yourself.

I fully agree - respect, if nothing else, means keeping certain thoughts to one's self. I think bad things about some folks on a daily basis, I just manage to keep them where they need to be - quiet. Fact of the matter is, if you think that saying something might make you sound like a jerk, then others will probably see it the same way. I don't personally tolerate those without any tact (even my own mother falls under that category).

Please don't make me (or anyone else) hate you. Please? We want to love everyone! Really!

well said well said. truth be toldone of the reasons im enjoy this clan is for the fact that it seems to have a good quality air of respect about it, the florian lights motto thats posted up is in fact one of the reasons i was drawned into joining.

seems to me Cropps is doing a damn good job in up holding that ideal.

i suppose some people just rather jump to anger rather then glimps the whole picture...though i have been quilty of yelling at a bartender or two with a brash response "maybe YOU had enough!....and maybe YOU should stop chatting up that barstool! now give me my whisky damn you! "

while it's easier to blame others rahter then yourself.. it usaly always end up with you looking like an ass...and a finding a few splinters in horrid places the next morning.

Thank you, very much. I really appreciate hearing that. It was a motto laid down before even I had joined the Florian Lights and it's one I will swear by, no matter what.
