| I know some of you are fans of web comics, so I figured we might as well have a thread for us to share our favorites.
I will state that most of the ones that I post here are not really intended for children. Assume PG-13 unless I state otherwise. Also, depending on your values and beliefs, expect some of these have to be offensive in content.
Schlock Mercenary. Good ol' space comedy/drama.
Sam and Fuzzy. The misadventures of a rather timid man and his deranged teddy-bear like friend.
Penny Arcade. Long running comic that most comic followers should already be familiar with. Random stuff, but expect vulgarity and crude humor. However, you should bring your thesaurus and dictionary along for some of their strips.
Erfworld. A guy who's passion is table gaming ends up in a different dimension where the life follows the rules of a table top war game.
The Order of the Stick. A comic who's artwork is done in mostly stick figure fashion and is based off AD&D. Don't worry about the artwork, the story is pretty decent, and if you are a AD&D geek, there will be some inside jokes for you. If you aren't, well that's ok too (...philistines), the story and interactions of the characters are amusing even without knowledge of AD&D.
8-Bit Theater. Sadly, this one has just recently wrapped up, but there's over 1000 comics for it, so you will have plenty to ready. It's a Final Fantasy based comic done with sprites, and it is amusing, at least to me. And really, isn't that what matters? It's also where Mia's sig is from. That should give you enough reason to go read it.
Girl Genius Online. A great comic. Go read it. It's steampunk with power-crazed geniuses running amok, potrayed with great artwork and a solid story.
Now for the stuff that you shouldn't read if you are easily offended or are very impressionable, and that includes adults and children.
Something Positive. Dark humor, sarcasm, and bitterness. One of my favorite comics. Give it a whirl, just expect to see some rather offensive comments.
Least I Could Do and Looking For Group. These two are done by the same people. The first one follows a sex addicted narcissist and his hijinks. The other one is a bit more tame, but it is a fantasy based comic about a group of adventurers. And it is worth reading simply for Richard the Necromancer.
Eerie Cuties and Menage a 3 are two more site that feature some of the same talent. However, Eerie Cuties is much more tame and could be considered PG-13 if you're lenient. It focuses on a high school of monsters and their lives. Now Menage a 3 is definitely adult oriented. Take a young straight virgin geek who's 2 gay male roommates decide to move out only to have 2 women, one of whom is a sex-crazed bisexual, take their place. Did I mention this wasn't for kids? It ain't porn, so you young whipper-snappers looking for that need to go elsewhere, but it is very heavy with sexual-themes.
I'll add more to this thread later, but I'm out of time right now. Toss up anything you all enjoy.

| Sexy Losers always has, and probably will always be my favorite web comic... My particular favorite story lines are "Suicide Girl" and "Mike's left hand" THIS IS NOT PG13 BY ANY MEANS. | |

| Diet and I have pretty similar tastes in webcomics, I see. There's a few I'd like to add to his list:
Darths and Droids -- This is a really good comic that presents Star Wars Episodes I, II, and III as a role-playing session in a universe where the movies were never made, using stills from the film with alternate dialogue pasted in. They did one earlier in the same style using the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, but I don't have a link to that one on hand, unfortunately.
Evil Inc. -- Brad Guigar's long-running webcomic about a corporation run by and for evil supervillians. Very funny stuff.
Full Frontal Nerdity -- Aaron Williams' webcomic about a gaming group. The setup I just gave may not sound like much, but if you've ever played any tabletop gaming, you'll enjoy this one. Aaron also does Nodwick, a web and print comic about a fantasy adventuring group and their long-suffering henchman (the Nodwick of the title); and PS238, a web and print comic about an elementary school for super-powered children. Many irate fans of this comic felt Disney ripped off this comic making "Sky High" and worse, made a crappy movie in the bargain.
(almost done, promise! )
Legend of Bill -- A story of a... special... barbarian and his tiny dragon sidekick, out looking for adventure after deciding the world of chartered accountancy wasn't for them. Dr. McNinja -- the title pretty much says it all, really... A doctor who comes from a family of ninjas, balancing his desires to be a healer against the pressure to devote his energies to the family traditions. Oh -- and he has a gorilla named Judy for a secretary and a sharp-shooting sidekick that rides a raptor. No, I'm not kidding.
And no webcomic list can be complete without a mention of xkcd, "a webcomic of romance, sarcasm, math and language."
I have lots more, but my fingers are getting tired.
...OK, just one more, an oldie but goodie: PC Flintlocke's Guide to Azeroth. Originally a couple of one-off columns for GameSpy, they were so popular that they ended up a weekly strip. They were written pre-Burning Crusade, so a lot of the jokes are a bit dated, but strips like "The Chuck-Shot" still leave me gasping for breath from laughing so hard. There was a follow-up -- Flintlocke vs. the Horde -- but I prefer the original.

| I don't really know much about Web Comics or comics in general, however I do read one web comic it is:
The Non-Adventures of Wonderella - It's a sarcastic comedy that follows the life of a really lame superhero ... it is way funny, but it does cater to a specific humour type ... so it's either a hit or miss type thing. I like it though.

| Mostly it's all Archives. Suicide girl got a new artist, but Mike's Left hand stayed pretty much the same. | |

| Sylvaton and Diet hit most of the ones on my list but here are a couple others: Questionable Content - Kind of like Friends only with Indie-rock twenty somethings and tiny. intelligent, robot/computers. I seriously want one of these right NOW. The Devils Panties - neither satanic nor pornographic (mostly). Journals the life of an offbeat girl cartoonist into LARP'ing and the juxtaposition of a leaf blower with men wearing kilts. Two Lumps - The Adventures of Ebenezer and Snooch - Life as seen through the eyes of two cats, one snarky, the other ...special. There are others, many many others but it's 3AM and I don't wanna type anymore. | |
